BMS 107 "Connections" Plus Hour Assignment
For purposes of this assignment, "Connections" may be defined as follows:
- a structural connection may be thought of as a place where two or more
structures are physically connected
- a functional connection may be thought of as an interface between two or more
structures at which the structures interact, for example, an interface in which
substances move or flow from one to another
The Assignment
: Briefly describe a structural connection or a functional connection between each of the following pairs of systems:
between the cardiovascular system and the lymphatic system
between the cardiovascular system and the respiratory system
between the cardiovascular system and the digestive system
between the cardiovascular system and the urinary system
between the digestive system and the lymphatic system
For full credit:
- clearly identify the specific structures that are structurally or functionally connected
within each pair; and
- briefly explain the function or "purpose" of the connection.
- Answers may be brief (a few sentences or a short paragraph on each pair) as long as they address
the points noted directly above. Two (2) points each.
